The previous owner of this lantern has attempted a fettle, and I n the process has managed to misalign the pricker eccentric lever with the eccentric block beneath the pricker rod. Has anyone ever been able to remove this eccentric/pricker block? All advice greatly appreciated. Tony
Never done one of these lamps but it looks like you just undo the brass nut to tug the shaft out. Darryl has a post up just now showing all the bits Pete
Pete I think you’re right, but it’s in there tight. I might try the trick of putting some washers between the packing nut and the control lever and then unscrewing the packing nut. I think my set up is not the same a Darryl’s. I don’t think it has the screw/ratchet set up (I could be wrong). Tony @pete sav
Break through my deduction. Even though there is no “hex” on the part proximal to the fuel control block, it does screw out (as per Darry’s). The ratchet has been damaged. Cheers Tony
@Tony Press . Hi Tony. I’ve not seen a round or rounded off eccentric leaver block. The whole leaver block can be exchanged as you can, the pinion looks worse for ware. The cylindrical block I’ve only seen in older Handi’s but the newer ones do the same.
It looks as if it's not been in the fully down position before the vapouriser nut has been tightend down like it's had something pressing on it. If you get it red hot and quench it maybe you could straighten it up with pliers? Or cut the bent part off would it be long enough then maybe there will be enough left to use the pricker a new one would be best if you have like Pete

An interesting setup. Looks like the rack part is bent. The pinion looks ok. If the rack couldn't be straightened properly, then you might need to fabricate a new piece. I don't know if less common parts are easy to find in your location. Very likely not.
