Unsurprisingly my AIDA 1500 had a leaky foot valve when I got it; fuel seeping from the top of the generator. What perplexes me is that it is still doing this after replacing with a new viton seal. What else can I check for with this issue?
    Thanks.

    Welcome aboard!
The Aida and other lanterns of that genre, do not have a positive shut off valve, the knob simply operates the pricker rod, so it's best to use the soft start method.

Pls check if the fuel pickup tube has a crack.

Also check in detail, if/why the valve might be leaking. Maybe the rim, onto whicht the rubber pip is pushed, has a scratch

What's the fun in that? I have the reason I got this lantern was for the torch preheat function. But I appreciate the advice.

Good suggestion. I'll give it a thorough inspection shortly.

I got it sorted out. I pulled the valve and the seal for the foot valve had a "wrinkle" in it, so I replaced it, and its holding fine. Also Ibeleive the last time I shut down I turned the knob instead of bleeding pressure which may have contributed. THanks!
