Just a quick observation, I have been looking for a Pod 8k kero heater and realized how hard the wicks are to find. Then I realized the new Toyotomi 'moonlighter' aka rainbow heaters can ship from Japan. Both are not cheap and I suspect kero heaters won't be around to long as new anyway. So maybe I should go broke for the new model since they aren't sold stateside. Comments? Also I received a new to me pressure lantern, I took it out to see how much cleaning it needs and realized it had been shipped completely full of fuel! I can't believe it wasn't flagged somehow. Ok rant over lol. Haven't been on here for awhile and had to vent.
Yeah they had a wick but it doesn't come with the metal sleeve attached. I found a place in the UK that has them listed and emailed to see what they have.
Aha ! - "Wick carrier" is what you want. 81095XT POD 60 line Extra Quality stiffened wick complete with carrier for 8K,8K/SEL £25.50 Pod heater The web page would suggest that they have parts. toyotomi wicks : http://www.milesstair.com/by_make/TOYOSET_Kerosene_Heaters.html This looks interesting Kerosene Heaters - World Marketing of America, Inc.
Yes that's what I just found for the complete wick. Now to decide between the Pod or new moonlighter or HC Lightning bug lamp for my yearly gift lol.
Well I love my new HC Lantern , and I have to say Milesstair is a great business. I emailed them with a few questions and they responded with great info. I then went ahead and ordered a decent sized order, that was shipped promptly. Great place to do business with.
The one I was looking at sold. I had them down on price but still thought it was to much. I have a few older heaters that I got great deals on and were nos to keep me busy. I'll find the one eventually. There is a decent Aladdin blue flame for cheap I might try to restore decently close by as well lol.
I found a NOS heater lol. Not as much as a NOS pod 8k or Aladdin Blue flame, miles stair has a pic but the grate is different on these. There is a used one on eBay , it's called Futura The Duke. I think it's a rebadge of a Fujika Japan heater. They have resumed production from their popularity and quality. As if last year it was over a year wait lol. Gotta wait until next spring until my next purchase. Life calls and work slows down until then. Paychecks are going to be about halved lol.
