Well I been spending money again . As promised here are some pics of the old girl going. Fitted with a table lamp gallery as I wasn't ready to burn in a new mantle, or try out the mica shade. but you still get a good light out of it. When I saw the sledge hammer the railwaymen used along with the lamp I couldn't very well leave it. Now all I need it the hat . Oh and I realise that 1984 is slightly newer than the lamp. Regards Matt
Looking good Matt! These are one of my favourite lamps, and as a fledgling collector, I've been drooling over the ones in the gallery! Saw one on the bay last night and snapped it up BIN - I collect it tomorrow eve You mention the mica globe in your post - did yours come with it, or did you need to locate one?
Hi Matthew Very nice lamp even with the TL gallery 8) , as for the hammer the date may have changed but the style of track tool has not for many a year , all very nice Stu
Hi Jim, Thanks and congratulations on your purchase. I saw the one that you have bought and would normally have been interested but was due to go and see this one today so didn't bother. As for the mica globe, it came with a smashed one like yours looks to be, but very kindly I was supplied with a brand new one which will save a lot of hassle trying to find one. Hi Stu, thanks it is a lovely little lamp I will put some photos up with the correct burner and shade (when it's cooled down). My granddad has a hammer very similar but it is much older and some how the peg end of the head has been snapped off.
