I have purchased what i hope is a Hipolito lamp but it has no markings on the fount of the sea horses or the lamps name. Their is the printed lable that says Hipolito automatic H 502 . The quality of the chrome work is excellent and theirs a seahorse stamped on the hood . The fount has a sticker going around the bottom that says Automatic Hipolito lamp 500cp when ordering spare parts specify for lamp no 502 in 4 languages. Do you think this is a genuine Portuguese Hipolito.

As ever pictures speak a thousand words. It sounds like a later made version if anything. Are there any numbers undernath the fount ? Is the label a metal one or a paper one ? The hood sounds correct. - anyway it sounds like it is in great conditon

Yes , that is very clear and 100% a real Hipolito. The new Hipolitos made from 1975 to at least 1982 looked exactly as you described. It wasn't until the mind 80's,I don't want specific on the year ,that the Hipolitos again had the seahorse on the tank. The Hipolitos always had a seahorse on the hood.

Thanks for the information. I can tell its a quality lamp from the materials that have been used but the no logo on the fuel tank put doubts in my mind. There are so many clones and lamps put together from bits about.
