    Hi,

I have completely unused Vapalux M1 yr 1972. Just noticed one of the air buttons is actually dummy. Checked the ref gallery and looks like all M1s there have air holes in all three buttons. Is it common to have a dummy one as well?
All my 3 other Vapalux/Bialaddins do not have such config. IMG_20221221_001953.jpg

    Cheers!

It seems unlikely. How about the equivalent of an air restrictor. Maybe for using alcohol fuel?

Hi fellas, i just checked my Vapalux M1 and all air buttons have air holes, that has to be a factory manufacturing fault, i cannot see how it would run right with an button that cannot breathe

That was probably a Friday afternoon or Monday morning error, I would simply drill some holes in it.

Indeed @JEFF JOHNSON , I'll just drill needed holes. Just a quick visit to man cave to sort it out.

When I first started collecting, I put every change and oddity back to standard.

I now regret that a bit, as the alterations and aberrations told their own story. So keep that air button undrilled.

Doubt keeping it as is, is going to be a strong talked about subject or add value.

As previously stated I would regard it as an opportunity to try alcohol as fuel instead.

Put a standard air button on it for kerosene use. Someone else might offer you a swap if they are experimentally minded. It's not for me. No Vapalux here.
