Good evening please could someone advise if this is a Tilley R1 or R1a and what is the difference between the two. I’m guessing this is mid 1950s ?

    Hi @Darren Holt .. it’s an R1

I believe the R1a used a different fount/tank and handle and perhaps other parts too?

    regards

You have an R1. The R1A was made in Dunmurray and has a different tank profile.
