    Hy. Recently arrived this nice Aymaró 96 stove made in Argentina. An exact copy of the Primus 96.

    @Juan Attractive Primus clone.

    Just a suggestion, your windshields are upside-down, should be like this.

    Well, an inverted windshield wouldn’t be responsible for that. I see you’ve posted about your stove on CCS also, which would be the appropriate site to talk about getting your stove working. As with pressure lamps, replacing worn and hardened seals in the fuel filler cap and non-return valve to ensure the fuel tank pressurises and stays pressurised is the first step, but that type of stove has a vapourising tube that makes a seal to the tank with a lead washer, which may need replacing, and there’s no removable/replaceable jet in the vapouriser, so if the jet orifice is worn it won’t fire up properly and may need a repair.

    The flame spreader on the Aymaro doesn't look right. It looks pushed in. That won't help the burn.

    @Nils Stephenson Your point was discussed in the thread Juan started on CCS, where he said,
    It has undoubtedly been mounted the wrong way up in the burner bell however, and should be convex face down. Quite possibly, a former user bent the four mounting legs down to create a greater distance between the jet orifice and the (convex) impact face, introducing more air to the vapourised fuel stream to compensate for a worn, enlarged, jet. It’s not inconceivable that both flame plates were altered at the same time.

    I always thought that part was cast iron, but for it to be bent so far it must be some sort of malleable cast steel?

    @podbros

    Over at CCS, Juan states that the flame plate has not been bent.

    Not always, for some ‘96’ clones or types (Monitor 17B), but on enlarging Juan’s photo of it it does in fact look like cast iron. It should be the other way up when placed on the burner bell I believe.

    Yes, or at least another very hard / fragile material. I'm sure it was not bend. The stove has just a little use and there is an identical spare within the box.

    Yes, thank you. That's exactly why I bought it as I'm not in the stoves collection.

    Thank you for the advice as I'm not in the stove "business". Useful.
