I inherited an AFC 1010 lantern that has been in a box in my basement for about 20+ years. I knew the box contained a lantern, however I never actually went beyond lifting the lid and looking inside, so I assumed it was a Coleman. Since I have another Coleman lantern, I decided to pull this one out with the intention of cleaning it up, making sure it worked and maybe selling it. Upon removal I discovered it's an AFC No. 1010. The pump seems dry so that will have to be addressed, however I notice it says that it is a gasoline lantern - does that mean it runs on regular gasoline? Can it be run on Coleman camp fuel (Naptha) without any sort of conversion?
Yes indeed, in fact Naptha would be preferable as it has no gasoline additives. Using Naptha means the lifespan of the generator/vapouriser should be pretty much indefinite from a fuel quality point of view and will resist choking up. Alec.
