Exciting mail call today from Rob Butts. This Spanish Focus has long been one of my favourite lamps but the globe I found for it originally just didn’t finish it as I wanted. Rob’s brass option mica chimney has just now given it that finishing touch. Millimetre perfect and top class workmanship! Thanks again Rob!
Hi Scott, I have one of these Focus lanterns with the original glass shade. Great Odd Looking lanterns. I'm bored with Coleman lookalikes, Tilley and Petromax, sorry to those who like them...I like the odd & rare ones... What I dont have is the proper ceramic burner to fit. I tried ordering what I thought would work but no luck. Is it possible you may know or might measure yours so that I can then find and purchase the correct size for mine? Best, Brian
Hi all @Scott D if I understand well, this globe is made with very thin brass sheets. not with plated brass sheets ?
My ceramic isn’t for moving @Ole Larson and I’d rather not put too much pressure on it. I presume there’s no standard sizes or threads on these? I’ll have another think and try again when it has warmed up a bit.
Hi Scott, Thanks for letting me know. There are standard sizes for these ceramic burners just don't know what it is. The burner burns up and is replaced on occasion on these ones. Petromax does the same sort of thing. Best,
