Okay, okay people, let's go back to.that previous post of mine regarding the difficulty I was experiencing with a Tilley: Pork pie tilley and tbh Tilleys in general.... I'm a Vapalux/ Bialaddin man and the experiences I've had trying to muster a good mantle thus light from a Tilley have been universally frustrating unlike my favoured provider (of light). The pork pie had my attention purely because of its weight 'unladen'. Finally after replacing the vapouriser and burner, she burns well, a solid lamp and one which I think I will use semi regularly. All looks good and original, nice lamp. Looks good. My porkpie is not the brightest Tilley I have. Can't remember if I changed the vaporizer or not but I think the burner needs replacing.

A nice original porkie with a good top cap, well worth the effort to get it running well.

@James K, @Buggerlugs, @Dean D, @george I have to admit, it's a lovely thing. I love the weight of it and the cap etc. is lovely and original. The durosil glass has plenty of imperfections which is also nice!!! There must be a pound of brass in it!!!! It came in a lot that I had to use all my powers of persuasion for the seller to take apart and send to me. Accompanying it were a Feuerhand 260 in poor shape, FH 275 all good, a beaten up 300x but all had good glass, so a worthwhile exercise. Screenshot_20230131-185724_eBay.jpg

I'm happy to see her running again, I love the Tilley Pork Pie and have been lucky enough to find a few myself.
