I was wondering if you have a Tilley Guardsman X246 and its stamped X246A? The reason why I'm asking this question is to get an idea of how many are out there? Also weather there is enough of them, if so should we have a new section in the Reference Gallery as well? So if you have one could you please respond and let us know, also photos would be a bonus as well as country if possible. Here is my one. Found in Melbourne Australia Thanks
@Buggerlugs They are not rare, but also not common, and they are represented in the Reference Gallery. A few turn up Australia. I prefer keeping the Reference Gallery sorted by model numbers, otherwise you would need to split X246 into various subcategories (eg pork pie) etc as well. Cheers Tony
No... I don't. But I'll grab one when I see one at a reasonable price. I've not gone hunting for one because they are really just re-stamped late '50s X246s. There was one on the Aussie Bay of Evil recently. Cheers Tony
Yes you are correct. I only found my one when I picked up 2, X246 Guardsman and one was stamped X246A. They were dirt cheap and on Gumtree, so for me it was just a bonus to have X246A stamp on one, something different for my collection.
As mentioned in a recent post I have one. It’s speculum plated and I’ll post photos after I’ve given it a clean.
