Hi all, I've got a Coleman 200A that needs a new generator. I'm in Australia and been looking for parts but difficult to source here. Apart from eBay is Old Coleman parts in the US my only other option? Thanks in advance for your advice.
Yes, OCP is your best bet, other than someone here having one. What is the problem with the generator? Tony
Hi Tony, The old generator is...cactus to use the vernacular. It was so gummed up after soaking it the paper tube lining disintegrated and I managed to stretch the spring getting it out. Then to add to my misery I accidentally broke the tip off the pricker and beat myself up about doing that for a good 3 or 4 hours. Especially when I kept telling myself to be careful over and over while I was handling it. Anyway, I see OCP has the individual bits I can buy, and they also have a "replacement" generator that I'm guessing isn't a genuine Coleman part. I also read someone had success using rolled up copper mesh in their old generator's but not sure about how that works as I'm quite new to this. Thanks for your reply. I'll try not to keep calling myself names about breaking the tip off the old one
Is that what made you ‘wretched’ Richard? Don’t beat yourself up about it, fettling mishaps happen sometimes. John
@Wretchedrichard I’ve tracked down a new Coleman 200A generator on Australia, Richard. Send me a PM if you want it. Cheers Tony
