    Hi all
    I recently acquired this Veritas Bowl heater and I seem unable to get to the point of blue flames within the steel 'mantle'. I've managed to get just about everything else. Large yellow flames outside, small yellow flame inside, small blue flames outside.
    All the air feed pipes are clear, the holes in the steel mantle and the inner cap are clear. I'm wondering if the jet has become enlarged but that's just a guess. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm hoping to get the night time shot and then post in the reference section.

    Rob.

    The most likely cause is an enlarged jet.

    That is a good find.:thumbup:

    Tricky I imagine. Not like peening a ‘96’ stove vapouriser.

    I'm not at all sure how I'll go about it yet John, especially as the vaporiser won't lift off over the cleaning needle so I can only unscrew the brass jet. Then there's the problem of the jet being recessed. No I'm not at all sure.

    Any chance of being able to measure the jet with known diameter wire?

    I've got some very fine drills I use to size stove jets Tony, so I'll try those. I've also got some pricking wires that I'm sure there are diameters I can look up.

    Try cleaning the carbon out of the vapouriser first. The needle rod does come out so it sounds like the caron build up is heavy if yours is sticking. ::Neil::

    @Mackburner you're exactly right Neil.
    It turned out to be a large build up of carbon inside that was preventing the triangular part of the cleaning needle passing through. So I had to unscrew the needle and remove it from the top which then allowed me to remove and clean the vapouriser.
