    High,
Got a Chinese made petromax 150 clone. Has not been lit in years. When I got it it was new old stock and unfired. It worked but lost pressure. I have had it completely apart and back together and it is holding pressure. But now when I pressure it up and go to light it, only air comes out. Yes I filled it with kerosene. The preheater wont light. Just hisses out air. Have preheated with spirits, turned the lamp on and it just hisses out air. No flammable kerosene. I have fettled with kerosene stoves, white gas stoves and coleman lanterns. I have never had a problem like this. Hoping someone can help out here.

    Hi!

I have fettled a few Santrax Petromax 150CP clones. Sounds like there is a fuel pickup tube problem. But unlikely on both parts.

But do check the lower vapourizer (part 144 in the pic from fogas.se) for leaks, it may suck air from the upper section of the fount.

    Regards Matti

Ok. Looks like I am taking it apart again. Kinda weird it is happening on both. This lamp has been a nightmare!!

    Hope You’ll find the problem.
The Santrax parts quality is not always the best so don’t rule out leaks on both parts.
The quicklighters are a pain on most lanterns but the lower vapourizer are seldom faulty.
