Hi all, I'm new user of this awesome lantern, bought it from the first owner, which tried lantern once and never more. But I love it, just cant solve this probleme - the mantle shines only partially and has halo effect. Could somebody help me? Thanks! geo from Czech Republic
@geo1024 That’s a sign of over-fuelling Geo. Since it’s had little use it’s unlikely that the jet is worn, but it may have become loose in the threads and needs to be screwed tight again. John
To me it sows a way to small mantle. A picture of the whole lantern and the type shield would help. A 500 or 350 lantern do not differ in appearance but they do in detail.
Check that the mantle is properly installed. Make sure that the mantle fits snugly on the holder and is in the correct position. If the mantle is damaged, replace it with a new one. A damaged mantle may not burn properly and may cause problems with the halo effect. Clean the glass elements of the lamp. Dust and dirt on the glass elements seem to affect the gain and quality of the light. Address whether or not the fuel system is working properly
Hello friends, I think I found the cause of my problem. The mixing chamber (Nr. 34) was not sufficiently tightened. After tightening everything seems fine. I also changed the mantle just to be sure. Thank you very much
They can work loose. As can the ceramic nozzle. I was sitting in the garden one evening enjoying the light and it dropped off all by itself
I always put a small dab of white exhaust cement on the screw threads of the ceramic burner nozzles. No risk of breaking them from over-tightening and they never come loose by themselves.
