    Hi all,

This beautiful lantern marketed by the Montaldo brothers in Italy.
Has a power of 200 cp with a tank of on liter capacity.
This lantern has all the original parts, the aesthetic condition is very good, very solid thick brass construction with no stress cracks, just small corrosion spikes on the nickel plated and rust on the raw stell parts, especially on the preheating spirit cup.
The cap is in gray enamel.

I researched this lantern , i found little information.
I looked at the papers documents of the CPL bookstore, the model "Providus" 301 and present on a paper
    presented by Bo Riman here:https://classicpressurelamps.com/threads/providus-italy.1348/
The model "Providus" 301 and presented with Standard Licht gasoline lanterns.
I found a copy of "Providus" 301 in Uli collection, but it missing the interior fireplace with the mixing tube.
    Uli's lantern has a nickel-plated brass cap.

No correspondance of parts with: Petromax, Aida, Continental Licht, Phoebus, Ditmar, Optimus, Primus, Radius, Solex, Hipolito.............

    Standard Licht parts fit perfectly.

I strongly believe that Standard Licht made for the Montaldo brothers the 301 model lantern.
Montaldo brothers "badged" the Providus brand on the 301 model lantern.
I show pictures to compare almost identical part with Standard Licht.
I think Standard Licht took the basis of its model N°200 for this lantern "Providus" 301 with the analysis
of the various technical elements and Standard Licht patents, i think the manufacture between around 1935 until 1940.
    Welcome to the conversation.
    Thank you for sharing.

    Best regards,
    Titoo.

@Titoo what a find! And it’s me in Italy I have never found one!

Congratulations, the earliest Providus lamps, considering the partnership with Standard Licht and Hasag are another level.

    Cheers,

    Nicola

    Nicola,

    Mrs Sys, Adelcoro,

Thank you all for so much interest.
Indeed, I should take the time to light a few lamps, there are a few that are resting on the shelves.
Let's say that I work a lot on my collection of old incandescent burners, using hydrocarbons and alcohol.

    Regards,
    Titoo.
