Kayen AP2

Can someone please identify this lantern for me ? I purchased it at a local swap meet.
(Edit: Moved to Kayen and title amended after identification)

 

(Australian) Kayen AP2.
It's got a Tilley vaporiser on it.

 

Any idea what year?

My guess late 1940's to 1950's.

Generator and pricker and the rubber pip seal

 

They are the same parts as Tilley.

 

A fine fettling project.

 

Kayens are a fine lamp. Plenty bright and easy to get going.

 

From 1945 to 1955. The end date is proving difficult to verify and it comes with a +/- of 5 years.

Yours is a Kopsen Kayen. IE, from Sydney rather than Melbourne.
All original but the vapouriser. Needing a reflector of course.
Glass looks original too.
Best keep that aside when you are using the lamp and get a Tilley reproduction for it.
