Hi all I was lucky enough to find a rather rare lamp, a "Koppel lighthouse", made in France in Forbach by Ernest Koppel, but which is actually a German "Standard" lamp. This is evidenced by the combustion system; strictly identical to that of the "standard 3045" model, a copy of which is presented on the site by Titoo; and precisely this is what is missing on mine: tank, manometer, mirrors, glass, everything is OK, except .... generator, burner, chimney, ceramic, glow tube, in short everything that must contribute to its operation; So if by chance someone has a wreck sleeping in a corner, but with these tools, Meric to contact me; Photos on request if needed Serge
You mention it yourself: rather rare lantern. How big would be the change that somebody would have the parts you need? I think somebody must have or find a donor lantern for the parts (in five days).
Ah - the words "anybody" and "nobody" often translate poorly from French to English. The slightly more negative meaning of "nobody" can cause misunderstanding.
Besides the translation: it still is a rare lantern and how big is the change that anybody or somebody has the parts laying around ?
It is a great find and perhaps parts could be used or adapted from other lamps or lanterns ? regards pb
Hi all, I am returning today to the epilogue of this E Koppel headlight. My friend Serge Dupont contacted me in April 2023 and during our discussions he told me that he was looking for a complete carburetor assembly for his E Koppel headlight which was missing one. I told him that I had in my stocks a complete Standard Licht E Koppel headlight but with a seriously damaged tank. After sending pictures we found an exchange agreement on a lamp. Here is a picture of the carburetor assembly he received to graft onto his E Koppel headlight which will be able to come back to life. I hope he will take the time to show us this pretty E Koppel headlight in action. Regards, Titoo.
A worthy gesture. I always say that we never own these things, but we are just the custodians for the next generation.
