Picked up my first AGM a Sunflame 2471 at a local VW swap yesterday. See above.
I have heard of stress crack leaks in the founts of brass fount lanterns but I thought, naaa. Anyway, I cleaned
her up, oiled the pump (which was in good shaped), pumped her up, held air, opened the valve, a nice hisssss emerged and then popped her into a container of water. Yes, three leaks.
One really a crack about 1/4” long near the base and two pinhole leaks
around the bottom as well. Solder, braze, parts heap? It’s in great shape
too. I know it would fire up! Thanks.

I’d always be cautious with CF. I wonder if there is a donor tank option for these. Not AGM but something more reliable. A similar Coleman perhaps. Need to start working on mine!

That's a great idea. Wonder if a 220/228 Coleman fount will accept the AGM valve assembly?

    Thanks, Jeff!
    Was considering Caswell lantern fount
sealer. It is a epoxy resin that coats the inside of the fount sealing small holes and will hold under pressure.
    Bill Klock from YouTube suggested
it although he hasn’t tried it. He has furthered my knowledge about lanterns and stoves 10X!
His channel is called King ColeMan.
He goes into great detail on many aspects of old lanterns and stoves, not just Coleman. Highly recommend.

I have watched some of his videos and some members here have used that tank sealant or something similar.
