G'day all, just finished tidying up this little 3/300. Come up alright i think!
Anyone know roughly the year of manufacture?
Also the glass is reasonably loose, is this just the way they are?
Thanks in advance for you help!
    Cheers, Shane

The glass is a bit loose which is good as prevents shattering when expanded upon heating.

Ah yeah fair enough. It’s seems overly loose for glass expansion though…
But if that’s how they are then so be it!
Bloody ripper little burner she is!

Very nice, looks like it's hardly been used.

After breaking her down to inspect and clean, it certainly seems that way mate!
Can’t wait to see her burning out the bush on a camp trip.

Looks quite nice. From your picture if I can see 9 squarish holes around the hood I would guess its around 2000ish year wise.

I think you can take off about 40 years. This variant of the 3/300 was one of the last before the introduction of the angular handle. I believe the angular handle design was introduced in the early 1970s. The top is an intermediate design with the many holes of the early style but the flat(ish) top plate of the later design.

Thank you for the information Nils!
Just picked up a 64 Coleman 249 to add to the collection.
Time to sit in the shed with an ale and spruce her up a little. Cheers all
