I need some advice please. I have an Aladdin 23 burner and a beautiful Aladdin Lincoln Drape vase. My 23 burner wont screw into the thread on the vase. Can someone please assist me. I thought the 23 burner can screw onto both threads ?

    Hi @Kiwiboy00
I just looked at a model 12 burner and the threads are much finer than the model 23

Other members like @paul m and @Anthony will know the correct model for the age of your lovely glass lamp
There may be a later model that will fit to get you going but they will know
Hope you can get it sorted
    Regards

i would have thought a model 12 burner would suit the lamp too...or model A OR B burner being American

Model 12 will not work because they are central draft. I would have thought you should fit that lamp with that burner. Is any of the glass interfering?
Do you have a #21 to try ??

Thank you for all those that helped me sort this issue. It ended up being that the burner thread tolerance was different to the Vase (wider) I ended up sanding the thread to the vase slightly in order to get the burner to fit.

They definitely don’t make things like they used to any more. They still charge top dollar.

    Cheers

Is it normal for a new 23 burner to wind up and down easy but when the wick has been soaked in kero and burned it becomes somewhat stiffer and harder to wind up and down ? Why would this be ?

Yes new as in old stock never used. So do all Aladdin Lamps have this issue if so is there a trick to making it easier to wind up and down. Ive noticed so Aladdins are easy to wind up and down effortlessly. Is this a 23 burner issue or do all burners get stiff after soaking up Kerosene.

    Cheers
    Darren

I don't know a lot about #23. I stop just after early #21s. It will get a little bit looser as the fibers settle in.

I have four of them and some are harder to move than others but all work. Have never had to replace a wick but I can imagine slight manufacture and wear variations.
