Black Tilley VL

    Has anyone ever seen one of these, do they really exist? Perhaps after the war people preferred brightly coloured stuff and not something that looked as if it was suitable for putting on a grave? If any member owns one why haven’t we seen one in the gallery? Come on, don’t be shy.

    There is a post here some where with Mick Emm showing a black one.

    Not quite though Anthony, it was a Henry Tooth ((Bretby) vase and had a nice floral pattern on it. Not that I would turn my nose up at it.

    I've only seen the black vase listed in a 1938 catalogue.

    Yes, I’ve seen it in a catalogue but it seems that no-one has seen the actual vase. Perhaps with the onset of war it never was produced?
