    Correct reflector orientation

I take it the controls are behind the reflector - It seems that would keep heat on the 70 % of the fount - Saving seals etc - Breathers Parralel to the Reflector --

I did some lite stripping - seems pricker is either missing or might have turned out and is stick upstairs

Will get this in a soak this weekend

    Greetings
    Well a little progress

Managed to gently remove the Burner
This revealed a beaut of a find

    IMG-20230605-WA0065.jpeg

Lessons learnt from a previous Primus restore

Go slow and use penetrating fluid - DO not force anything
Thankfully when I removed the Whole burner raiser stem the Pricker turned out of its raiser - I was a bit bummed when I saw no Pricker - Twas only after a good soak in citric and removing the top section of the burner that I noticed it was still stuck in the up position

Luckily no forced movements - This would have definitely broken some of the gear down below or snapped off the seized pricker in the nozzle / jet

    So I proceeded with care
Removed the jet with pricker in
    - More soak / a few heat and quench plus more WD40
After what seemed a fiddly eternity shed came free

Here a very Rusty Pricker rod - Should this not be Brass ?

    I have a spare from a 991 - Brass but to short

    IMG-20230605-WA0069.jpeg

I take it this lead seal should be replaced -I also want to check on thickness to position the burner tubes correctly.
Seems the bottom is soldered to the fount - so I will leave as is
    20230606_050451.jpg

I take it this is the correct positioning - Ie we are looking from the rear of the heater reflector - The heat projected away from filler and pump - Also being Right handed - Pump on the right

    20230606_050524.jpg

Here I found some mesh on site - seems 1mm squares - Used some of the mesh wire for a little sewing job - Fairly happy with the result

The right hand breather has been overnighted so flairs a little more past straight

Must be a Male heater that bends right - No offence to and ladies

    20230606_050430.jpg

Here the basic tight with the current lead seal at the base - - Almost a 1/4 turn to far imo

    20230606_051633.jpg

Would like to get him sitting as such

    20230606_051744.jpg

So next step is to ream all the cavities - Good ol wire scrubber on my drill

    Works still to be done

Make up a base lead seal

    Make up a pump leather

    Remove and replace the nrv

Make up a seal for the filler cap

    Polish up the reflector

    Pressure test
Fill with some of that glorious juice

Pre Heat and off we go

    Thanks for reading

PS - does the heater cup come loose ? - Seems there's a recess on the raiser that keeps it in place

What a wonderful design - I thought that the little feeder lip was past of the holding gear - Much like a Biallaladin

    Well

The Fire gods made me do it

    Found the seal and Leather

Tested the NRV after some wd40 - Seems all is good

    So here we go
Tightened down as best as my hands would allow - Got about 10 degrees to go on the Breather tubes on alignment.
Basic buff hand job on the reflector

Hit with some Meths to pre heat

    20230606_061218.jpg

And would you believe it - We have life and HEAT
