Hello lamptoad, both lanterns were manufactured by the Czech company MEVA in the 1990s. The only thing original about these lanterns are the glasses. Could you please take another picture of the tank bottom and post it here? Greetings Jörg
Well they are "technically" a Chalwyn, but as Jorg says made in Czeckoslovakia. Not such good quality but better than a lot of Chinese ones.
This is the burner assembly. It is held together by the flat pipe at the bottom. These are rusted up so I plan to replace them with homemade versions made of 0.5mm brass. If that doesn't work I'll have to bin the lamps.

Hi Lamptoad, as I can see the Meva company produced them longer as I thought. The marking on the bottom of your lamp means: First quater in 2001 Kind regards Jörg
Had to replace the wick feeders (which were both rusted up) with home-made brass fittings, but they seem to work ok now.
I had a wick winder that had rusted up, but a good long soak in paraffin worked wonders.! It was in there for a good few weeks, then I used the paraffin in one of my lanterns. Hugs Sammi Jane xXx
