Since Newark I have had little response to my post about demand for replacement Brass hood caps. It is clear that what demand there is, is for the E41 type cap:

There is not so much demand for the H44 cap:

I have to make a decision on going forward to a production run by the end of this month (July). At the moment it looks like I may be able to go for the E41 only. The cost will be £16 each cap, and postage will be additional. I estimate postage in UK to be £2.70. If you have any further potential orders please PT me. The production caps will not be as highly polished as these shown; that will be down to the purchaser to apply if they want to. Regards - Steve.

Update: I have had a couple more enquiries, but not what you would call "avalanche" interest. If you think this is a "go-for" project please let me know! Maybe you do not need a replacement cap for a 300X now, but you may sometime in the future. Remember that this proposed replacement cap is not pretending to be an exact copy of the original. The subtle differences like the rolled edge are there to show future collectors that this hood-cap is a quality replacement, not posing as an original. All feedback is welcome, even if you hate the idea. Please think about it and let me know - Thanks Steve.

Latest Update Decision is made! I am having both the E41 and the HD44 made. Production will start soon and I expect delivery in early September. When I have them I will post some more pictures and advertise them for sale. They will not be polished, nor will they have drilled holes as this allows for varying hood dimensions. They will cost £16.50 each and P&P will be £2.90 for 1 to 4 caps. Best regards to all - Steve.

In response to a question from a fellow CPL member, I am having a couple of both types made without the rolled bead outer rim. These will be slightly smaller diameter (about 4mm smaller) to avoid an additional set of tooling. They will be the same in all other aspects. I will post pictures when I have them in September. Steve.

Hi Steve, I have just registered as a new member. I would be interested in buying both versions of your caps for the bialaddin 300 when you go into production. Could you inform me when you have stock available for sale.
    Thanks KNP

Thanks for your interest. I will put out a new post when they are ready, with new pictures and ask that people PT me with orders then. Steve.
