    Hi there,

I am happy to have found your forum. A nice guy in another forum gave me the idea, to make a post here.

I come from Germany. I like to work on the garden and I love old stuff. I have 2 children (one ist adult till this year) years ago we bought an old manor. This is the reason for my vintage shopping tours

I bought a coleman lamp in a garden Konvolut and unfortunately I don't know anything about it.

she stood in my garden all summer and now I'm asking me, what to do in the
winter with it … or whether I can leave it outside.
I'm not sure if it's rare, then I'd rather sell it to a collector than have it with me.
… then it would be a shame to let it rust in my garden!

I found only 2 pics in the web white same combination (silver and green 200a). I am
not sure, if I used the wrong keywords for my search…

Sorry for my English! And thank you

    Best wish

    Welcome to CPL @Lari
It's a good looking lantern and does not appear to have been lit.
I would not leave it in the garden. That will damage the appearance.
The 9 77 on the bottom is the manufacture date September 1977.

    Good evening robbo55

thank you for your answer! I searched for a robust garden lamp. When I tried to clean it first time, I had to remove the glass. While removing, the mantle disintegrated into dust. Nobody had touched it for years…

I another forum, some people told me, it seems to be a 202 or a special production, because of the nickel tank. Do you have more ideas? Sorry for my English, I hope I understood everything correct.

    Hopefully my sentences make sense

    Best whishes Lari

I searched for a practical and robust garden lamp. After the information, I got from you, I think it’s worth preserving. But otherwise, it’s important for me, to place a lamp outside (in the winter as well)

we are living in an old manor, it’s important to have light on the terrace…

    Grusse auf Irland Lari!

I know nothing of the Coleman type lanters, but I can testify to the quality of the Original German made Petromax. An absolute abundance of information on YouTube for the novice. Parts readily available.

Looks like a Coleman 202 and this is probably why it’s in such good shape after hanging in your garden. These lanterns were made to stand up to bad weather or seaside saltwater conditions. You have a lovely lantern.

I don't know much about Coleman lanterns but it looks like you have something special.

As you are in Germany I agree with eiremax, a Petromax would suite your need.

That is a really nice lamp you have there.Oil the pump leather and put a new mantle in it and you will have a lamp that will light your garden very well.

@Lari Your lantern is a Coleman 200A as can be read
on the instruction label of the second last photo.
I would store it inside while it's not used. Makes your
    lamp last longer.
