I bought a somewhat battered Bialaddin 320 for spares or repairs. It had a halfways decent red top and for some reason the cage had been painted white. The tank was plain natural brass with a military arrow mark and a few dents. Given that it is not exactly rare and would take a lot of work to get pristine I decided to complete the red, white and blue theme in honour of the Coronation.

As purchased the lamp had a chrome filler which I have replaced with brass, purely for effect. The spirit bowl was rock solid on the vapouriser, which was leaking at the base; both swapped out to be rescued another day. Glass is also borrowed.
    And it works!

The white paint on the cage was pristine on arrival, but obviously doesn't like the heat and will have to be replaced if I keep the colour scheme.

Mods. - Apologies if this is the wrong forum; please feel free to re-direct.

The blue is not my thing but that's OK - it was a wreck when you got it and now it's working - well, by the looks of it! You can always change the colour if you felt like it and it's for your own use so who cares. I really can't imagine anyone mistaking it for an original, out of the factory finish! Well saved!

    Hi Nick.. good job!

the blue is actually one of the colours of the new line of Vapalux in Korea.. you can view it on the base camp website or on vapalux.com

    regards

Thanks Jeff, Colin; it is indeed working well. The colour scheme was only intended as a bit of fun and a chance for me to practise (first try) spraying a tank. It still needs a bit of tidying up but the finish is actually better than it looks in the photo.
As podbros has just pointed out, the blue might look a bit unusual but it is actually not that far away from the Norwegian Blue of the 320s manufactured by the Vapalux company in Korea and (apparently) available from Base Camp. This was not intentional!

She’s now a worker, and the blue is quite eye catching, I like the shade of blue. Well done mate.
    Cheers

If it is yours and not exactly rare, then the colour it ought to be doesn't matter. I sprayed a Bialaddin 300X cream. Because I didn't like the dull green it ought to have been.
    Paint can be changed.
