Unfortunately not from the first year, but probably the year after or the next, meaning 1932 or -33.

It got an early filler cap. The one used just before that hideous safety thingy came in 1934. This one sure looks alot better.
And the collar is without any stress cracks or even indications of them.

I've always wondered why they moved the pump on the 119 after this version. The way it is here gives a more stable action as you are pumping down as well as horizontally. This keeps the lamp firmly on the table.

I agree with you about the filler cap. The safety cap was a good idea at the time but now after 70 years or so they invariably leak.

I agree. It's much nicer to pump a lantern when the pump has this angle.
Atleast as long as you have it on a table.
Perhaps the more horizontal version is better when you have a lantern hanging from its handle?
I guess that's where you often would see a lantern under actual use.

    Hello Nils and Christer!
Interesting info about the 119. The 119 is my favourite lantern and Radius my favourite brand allways interesting to know facts.

    Hello guys !

What year was the first year for the 119, and how do you know that this one is later ?

    Best regards / Frederik

    Hi Frederik

Good to see you at the Primus meeting. It's always good to finally put a face to a name. :)

The first 119 is presumed to be from 1931. This is at least the first time it is mentioned in any paperwork. The first one was the same style as the 120 which had a filler cap like on the Radius 21 stove and the handle had a small loop with a hook attached. Most likely with a black or dark blue enamelled top as well.
