    Coleman 226 is not a model number I am familiar with but a picture would help us all to answer your question.

    Those Peak One types are neat little lanterns but I never liked them much as a regular user. The gland seal is an O ring and can't be tightened because it relies on a clip to retain it so as the seal wears the control spindle is prone to leak and you can't tighten it in service. Good maintenance is therefore vital and you need to carry spare seals. ::Neil::

    Has anyone here used the Coleman 226 camping stove? I'm considering purchasing one and would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with it. How does it perform in terms of fuel efficiency, ease of use, and overall durability? Any tips or recommendations for using this stove effectively?

    I have not seen a model 226 but I do have a model 229 which I like mainly for its compact size. I note the spare globe and generator advertised by Old Coleman for the 229 also fits the 226.

    Interestingly, I have also seen elsewhere a globe stamped as Coleman which is a new and considerably much wider globe than a standard globe. These are advertised as fitting the 226 and 229 lanterns.

    I would describe it as a fish bowl globe and wondering if others have seen or used these for a 226 or a 229 lantern?

    I have a 226 Bilingual.
    Although they’re neat looking, I prefer the 222. If I’m remembering correctly, the generator tip orfice is bigger than the 222 and 229 which means more pumping.

    My 226 is very bright when going full tilt but it needs to be pumped often. There is some brightness control with careful manipulation of the valve/pricker wheel but whether doing that is advisable or not is open to question..

    Fully agree. Same at my 226.
    Needs to be pumped every 30 to 5 minutes.
    The lower the fuel level, the more often pump.

    @bp4willi I'm glad I'm not alone.

    I find it very useful when I'm going out in the dark to do a relatively quick job. Being petrol it lights immediately and I'm usually finished and back indoors before it needs pumping again.
    As the light for an evening's camping it would not be my first choice.
