I wonder if any of you saw the pink VL1 recently listed on eBay. The listing was ended by the seller earlier today so I can mention it now. The vase was really weird, looked to be correct in colour and style and stamped with the number 2737 but it had a strange design on it. The seller said it didn’t look like that had been added later. He also declined to give me a BIN price so I’m a bit peeved that I didn’t get the chance to bid for it. Oh well, plenty more fish in the sea, eh, only not so many pretty pink ones.
Yes and that vase just didn't look right. These have been reproduced in the last few years in some odd non standard colours. I've not seen the Kite lamp repros from Korea up close but the English made ones are a very well made copy with all the correct impress marks in the base. ::Neil::
Thanks for the comments Neil. I was going down to have a good look at it, seems it’s just as well it has gone and saved me a few bawbees!
Any pics or links to it Jean? Wouldn't mine a look but I can't seem to find it under completed listings.
Found pics in my eBay messages Matt but don’t know how to go about getting them on here except by taking pics on my phone. Sorry I’m just hopeless with this stuff.
amm That pink VL1 vase on eBay sounds fascinating! I'm curious about the strange design you mentioned. Can you describe it in more detail? It's always exciting to come across unique pieces like that. Also, have you had any luck finding similar items in the past?
If it is a repro vase @delam3 it won’t be unique. The design looks something like chain link fencing. Not many original pink ones to be found, only seen one in auction and it went for a lot more than I was prepared to pay. They will be out there, along with the elusive black ones.
If the vase is a reproduction, it is likely not considered unique as it may be mass-produced. The design resembling chain link fencing is distinctive, but finding original pink vases can be challenging.
