    I picked up this Tilley iron today and it is in excellent condition, in fact it looks unused and even had the hot plate still in its wrapping paper

    I have one question regarding air intake
    On the leaflet it shows what looks like a nipple in the air intake

    My iron looks like the picture below

    There are threads inside as if something should screw in.
    Is there a nipple missing or is this how they came?
    Other images I’ve looked at are similar to my iron.

    I have not seen that bottle before, so most interesting. Excellent find.

    I also would hope this thread gets moved to the gallery to the Tilley other products section where there are a few of these irons already because of the completeness of this one.

    The threads in the air inlet are for screwing up into rather than down into. The threads don't come all the way through. Your iron is complete.

    Thank you guys. I’m delighted to have found this and even more so because I got a great deal and it cost me less than 25% of the ticket price.
    @Anthony Thanks for confirmation Anthony

    Thanks everyone. Goes without saying it will sit on a shelf unused - not only because it has never been lit but because I have to stick to my story about being unable to use an iron :lol: :-$. Sorry dear ;) :roll:

    Hi Lizette, I was lucky to find this on FB marketplace locally.
    If only I could find a few lanterns in as good condition
