Hiya, I just had to post this because I am over the moon, I have just bought a Coleman 275(turd) it was the very first pressure lamp I ever bought in 1981, to use while camping in the New Forest with my then wife and young children, It disappeared from the garage during our subsequent break up and Divorce and when I saw one advertised on E-Bay I had to have it. Its nicknamed "the turd" not because of its colour but because someone on the Coleman Forum said it was S**t to work on, stuck schrader valve I believe. Anyway I loved mine and couldn't get over that it ran on petrol(Coleman fuel) as safely as stinky paraffin, it had a starting price of £105 but I made an offer of £100 and blow me down with a feather they accepted it. I don't have a clue whether that's a good price or not and I don't care because it's a reminder of when my kids were young and our camping trips. I know this is nothing to do with pressure lamps but humour me! we took the budgie with us, it could never talk, but it was a happy little thing whistling cheerfully, anyway we heard the guinea Pig's weep weeping sound and accused the kids of sneaking it into camp, turned out it was the budgie, I could never teach it to swear but it copied the guinea pig perfectly including it running across the room. I don't think the 275 was a very popular lamp at the time in England because we English didn't trust petrol, but I gave it a go and my only regret was its disappearance.

I just pray the globe survives the couriers, because I have never seen replacements advertised in UK.

Nice looking lantern. Great story. Good luck with it and yes early memories of lanterns are powerful.

I'd kind of like a 275, because I don't have one and also because they're different. Coleman models that use a Schrader valve are all a bit suspect because the mode of failure can potentially end in a fireball! All my Later Coleman models have been converted to run on kero for this reason, although they can be returned to their original state in minutes, should I want to.

£100 might be a little on the high side but for you it's a sentimental purchase and who can put a price on happy memories!

Maybe your kids might like one last camping trip for old times sake?

Hiya, yes that's a picket fence globe, and hard to get replacements for, so I was really worried that it would survive the manhandling of Parcel Force, well it did, thanks to the seller doing a great job with the packaging. The Lamp is in what I would describe as "As New" and although I haven't fired her up yet, the on/off valve seems to be working properly, which is another worry with the model 275, apparently the schrader valve fails and is a pig to replace.
