Hello all, here is what I believe is a early Tilley R1 radiator as it has the XN fount, and pre 1934 XN control cock with the ball bearing, I know its not the 1920 style control cock, that one is a little bit different from mine. The reflector has the Tilley Hendon riveted on and not stamped so its early, but again not 1920's as they had holes to hold the guard onto the reflector. The burner is an early one, so that's about the 1930;s, because the 1920's also had a different burner head. The handle is from about 1930's to early 1950's and is also different from the 1920's style. So that leaves the Pump which I dont have any idea on at all. This is all information that I have come up with from my research, so I am very happy to be corrected on any detail that is incorrect I am wanting to find out if I am correct, so that this radiator can go in the Reference Gallery under the right date, or as close as possible. So here are some photos to check out. The pump photos are last for any information on it. Thanks to anyone for help or comments.
Early thirties, before 1934 I would say. There was a heater before this one with a completely different burner. Cheers Tony

@Buggerlugs That’s a nice find ! Ive never noticed the little curved part on the bottom of the pump handle frame before? The handle is also a slightly different profile.. more streamlined regards, pB
The pump nrv on the left was 1933 to 34 the one on the right was 34 on it changed over the years and later had 4 holes in it. I think after that it went to the circular knurled type probably 38ish but not sure of that Hope this helps nice heater whenever it dates the brass control cock changed to bakelite by 35 anyway Cheers pete

@Tony Press Hi mate is this the pump you don't have? @pete sav which pump would be the correct one for my lamp in your opinion? The one that I originally posted or this one? See new photos. They both came off an early R1, but different reflector and the later XN control cock. Thanks for any advice.

Hi the brass button control cock like you both have is usually found alongside the pump with the baynet fitting nrv and raised lettering on the pump. The hexagonal nrv sometimes has 2 or 4 holes is usually found alongside the XN control cock with bakelite knob. Thanks i think so but nothing is certain with lamp n stoves just mostly what you have seen and read before You can get too preoccupied with stuff to be dead right to the book so to speak. That's why I love this Forum, so much diversity. One more question would this lamp have been brass or painted?
The catalogued table lamps of the period were poished & lacquered brass but the main catalogues don't show the radiators. This is the R1 folder from 1932 but it doesn't mention the fount finish. ::Neil::
The original finish of that tank and handle and pump etc., would have been highly polished and lacquered.
