My latest acquisition as original condition. I had to do a bit of routine maintenance. I treated the hood for corrosion. The air tubes and burner needed a good cleaning and the original vaporiser. Just wiped down the tank and new seals fresh fuel and away it went. Very cool IMG_1835.jpeg IMG_1846.jpeg IMG_1837.jpeg IMG_1838.jpeg IMG_1839.jpeg IMG_1841.jpeg IMG_1842.jpeg IMG_1843.jpeg IMG_1844.jpeg IMG_1845.jpeg IMG_1847.jpeg

That’s quite a find Darryl. I didn’t realise Tilley ever supplied a blue hood.

    Mmm…

    Very interesting blue hood.

Is (or was) it enamelled on the inside? If so, what colour would you call it?

Have they modified the pressure release screw?
    And does it still work?

Like many lanterns from the outback have had a long hard life.

@Tony Press , Hi Tony, there is some remnants of the white enamel inside the hood.

@Buggerlugs , hi there the air release valve screw is missing. They have found something that they have screwed in to replace it, I haven’t touched it as it may just be forcibly screwed in, to find the /an original valve screw is probably rarer than the lantern. Can’t fix what’s not broken.
    It’s cool and original

    Thanks, Darryl.

The hood would be most likely original to the lamp, then.

    Cheers

    Tony
