So I'm sure this has plagued petromax owners at some point where the tip loosens and the mantle overflames, cooking your vent.

Now I've heard people have used copper/nickel antiseize/slip/ as some kind of adhoc high temperature thread sealer and I would like to inquire on long term usage and repeated firings with this remedy. Wouldn't the anti seize make it easier for the jet to work itself loose?

Seems drastic, but on my Prabhat …

… the only way I could prevent the jet nipple from working loose was to silver solder it.

I’m confident that should I have to replace it when worn, I can desolder it readily enough.

Seems extreme but still looking for valid input on antiseize to seal a jet that likes getting loose.

Some colleagues have probably had good success with curd soap, which decomposes due to the heat and acts as a seal and screw lock. However, I have not yet tried it myself.

I have used a very small smear of exhaust assembly paste on difficult to seal jets, has always worked for me.

I've used nickel anti-seize on jets that have taper seals (and Primus 1001 type vapourisers) to aid future disassembly. It "dries out" to a stiff-ish paste when its dismantled, this can only help generate a seal as well?

Any more experience? Loosening threads are annoying and unpredictable. I could survive like 5 firings and boom, flare up during preheat.

I have used both copper and nickel anti seize for nipples and other generator threads and it seems to be a good long term solution for gas tight seals and as a thread lock in high temp locations. ::Neil::

Would they still be easy to disassemble for decoking at a later time?

My answer is the same as @Mackburner for nipples where the threads are not damaged (nickel grease).

I’ve used exhaust gasket paste where the threads are worn but not greatly damaged.

And I’ve resorted to silver solder (like @presscall) where the threads are useless.

I think I'll get some nickel antiseize, this is a relatively new vaporizer from old stock from Stuga Cabana, so the threads are still sharp on both the vaporizer and the new jet it came with.
