    That is way some people put the top of a 500cp on top of it. That fits perfectly and is reversible.
    The parchment version had a straight cylinder on the lamp.

    @WimVe

    Am I correct in assuming a cylinder glass for an 883 will be too big for my 882?

    Well the base of a 882 and 883 is the same (> picture Neil, above) as the normal 200Hk or 300Hk lanterns.
    Since you have the 882, 200Hk or 250cp version, I guess that the upper part of a 250cp lantern or clone for that matter will fit.

    Biggest issue with the original set up is that you need a globe, round or straight, which has a rim on the inside. The small fingers on the cage will catch on it and keep it in place with the one latch which can rotate. There is no fixation of the globe on top.

    For indoor use you can always use a straight new chimney but it will will have a loose fitting.

    So: When you want to use this type you must decide for a conversion to wander around with it or simply slight a normal straight cylinder over it and don't move it around.
    Hopes this makes sense.

    Edit: hold on: I just measured the normal straight globe on the 882, 200Hk, and it is 120mm inside.
    You need this diameter because the generator setup has this round box on top. So it sticks out sideways more then the normal straight vaporizer setup.
    Since I have not converted mine, I guess that even the 882 needs a 500cp globe cage.

    The cylinder may be glass (#74) or mica (74a).

    Looking again at the catalogue page I linked to, I think the mica was an alternative for lanterns only but there's nothing to stop you making one.
