Did a little dusting today, so I grabbed a family photo of large turban lamps.

Interesting? Can you show me the Foote burner please. I know Thomas sold a lamp with that Turban fount so maybe Foote did as well but there's not much difference between the Foote and Thomas burners so it's worth a look maybe. ::Neil::

Thank you all for the kind words.

@Mackburner I forgot I never posted the Frankie Turban here at the CPL forum. Here's some photos of the process below. I had this oddball shaped Turban fount here. Notice the bottom curvature is different than my others. The Foote valve/burner setup came from another collector buddy who knew nothing of it's origins and I thought the two would mesh together well... I had to modify the valve threads in order to fit the 1/8NPT of the fount... The gen orfice ended up being way oversized, so I installed a Coleman 0.008 orfice and it now runs beautifully.

    Nice work.

What thread did you use for the Coleman tip? I have another project that may require me having to tap a thread for a Coleman tip.

@Tony Press that is a 4-48 thread pitch which is common for Coleman starting with the Quicklites and running all the way through the 220 series. I find most any double mantle from the teens through 80's seem to run great with a 0.008" orfice on white gas/Coleman fuel. I suspect that Foote burner may have original been for kerosene use, but it's a gas burner now

    Thanks, Toby.

If I’ve not got 4-48 in my collection, I soon will.

    Cheers

@Tony Press you may find this link handy as I do. This is actually a web archive post... Wish we could save it to the forum somehow before it disappears completely.
