I was looking at the The Lamp Reference Library (subscribers only) - and under Radius I was reading in the Radius pamphlet 1954 about the then all new Radius 109 - it says " Lantern nr 109 is new and it´s shutoff as before know lanterns. It differs from the ones before in that it is more like the Radius burner 10/36 ..." Anyone that has seen the 109 lantern from Radius ? The burnertyp 10/36
The 10/36 looks more like a silent burner for stoves instead of a lamp?? I wonder how a similar burner could be used on a lamp.
You have sharp eyes ! Well, it states that it´s system is like the cleaning needle as on the burner. Not that the burner itself has anything to do with the lantern. Sorry if I was not clear on this.
Swedish lanterns and stoves would usually have the rack-pinion gear styled mechanisms for rising and lowering the cleaning needles.
I have been trying to look into this missing lamp. From what I can see is that model 109 is listed as being new in 1954. I am assuming it used the same valve/cleaning arrangement as the later 106A and 110A. As these two models were introduced in 1956, the 109 would have been replaced by the 110A. As such, the production run would have been very short, if any at all. Maybe the 110A was planned before the 109 could even make it into production. Of course, one might turn up as there was a 104 turning up recently and it is also from a limited production run.
