This what I found recently. A pair of Marvels in poor state. No burners or glasses....

However, with some elbow grease they shine again. And two Visseaux burners ad Schott Jena shades complete them

    Hi Gerard,

A very nice job on that pair of Marvel gravity lamps

These lamps comes from the company of Roffo & Cie and with a Roffo patent
from 1910 .... FR415025A. This patent is more a less a rip off of other earlier
    American gravity lamp patents.

Nice work, where do you find the burners. All I ever see is very small for gas lighting fixtures.

Hello Dean, they are gas lighting fixtures. Here is the rest of them.... They fit, almost. Needed a sheet of brass between Marvel and burner.

    Hi @Gerard Hi all
    Very nice lamps
I should like to add some details
THose kinds of burners are natural gaz burners, so are the glassware with holes.
    these are not the Marvel's
they are very difficult to find
here is a Marvel burner. The glass must be cylindrical without holes.
If you want to fit an opal shade, you need the other.
I have been given one, I need two :-k (never seen another for sale unfortunately)

If you want to light the lamps
here is a interesting patent ; FR 449819
In the upper tube, you can see several small brass rods which are driven in very tight. The fuel must create a passage between the rods, which allows it to warm up and vaporize. You must either extract the rods to clean them or use a product (acid, acetone) to remove hardened deposits.
Here is the lamp, up and running with the two burners but the good glassware.

Hello Michel, thank you for the information. The information on your restoration project, showed me how to find a good looking gass burner and shade

I notice some differences between the picture you shared above and the one Conny showed. Does yours have an pricker needle? As far as I can tell mine has not. How to clean te jet?

    @Gerard
    Conny shows the 1909 patent.
the other is from 1912 with some improvements, including a pricker with a cleaning needle
Mine seems to be like yours, there is only a conical pricker which closes the arrival of the gasoline. The jet is only pierced at the end of the lower tube

I cleaned it with a needle for acupuncture
