Hi all I aquired a Tilley 0L-50 a little while back, and on it was a Tilley 192 globe, now ive never seen one before, thing is, it came with a spare globe, another 192! so after never seeing one before i have 2, now are they rare or just abit scarcer than the 182 globe? they are quite crudely made, are a different size from one another and look more bulbous than the 182, any help is much appreciated.
They are scarce maybe had 4 or 5 in 25 years collecting. Tilley 182s was refered to as heat resisting glass only one available up to 1937 i reckon. In the 1937 catalogue the offer the 182 at 1/6d or a 192 pyrex glass at 2/- as well as a half frosted one which i have never seen at 2/- Cheers pete
Many thanks pete, looks like one globe will be going back onto the 0L-50, will have to find something special for the other.
It's interesting to see how different they are in size. I have never heard of a 192 globe before, and here you have two of them, and conformation that Tilley sold them. Congratulations mate.
Thanks Buggerlugs yeah one is taller than the other, and the bottom edges on both are unlevel, and are full of swirles and bubbles, but are lovely either way. the 0L-50 is currently being restored, but when its all finished i'll post the finished product
