Hi! My son brought home a Penguin lantern this weekend. I'm looking for any available information on it! Where was it made and time frame. Operating instructions, parts break down, any help is appreciated!! Thank you!
Good Day Leo Can you please help us by identifying the words stamped just below the penguin logo, and is the fount steel or brass? I could not find literature on it, but my guess is it is a Petromax clone from the Far East. Most likely China, eg. Kwong Ming or Shengwei factories. If the build quality is good, perhaps even Hong Kong.
Font, vent, frame are all steel. Valve wheel, collar and top of vent all say Penguin on them. I'll get some better pictures to post soon. Crystal
@JohanOptimus I'm afraid I can't help you at the moment. Due to lack of space in my lamp room some lamps had to be moved to the attic, among others the Penguin too.. here is an older picture
Neil (@Mackburner ) has “Penguin” listed in the Pressure Lamp Catalogue as “possibly Shanghai Pressure Lamp Factory”: two models, 500 and 350 cp. The listing acknowledges @Crystal Harman. I’m sure he’d be interested in that red label and paperwork @Pancholoco1911. Cheers Tony
