Hi all, I got a Primus 1001 lantern and the cleaning rod is rusted made from steel and the gears are long gone. IMG_3536.jpeg I was looking into fogas but I did not found anything telling me that specific model # so I am asking here for your help. Also I would love to locate the pump know, any ideas where to find it? Thanks

Hi Pancho, i have had a few of the 1001 Primus, i still have one, this is a problem i found like yours, thankfully i had a spare pricker rod, it will be hard to find one of these, the only chance i see is a parts lantern, someone may have one to share with you, or a skilled fitter and turner, [like an engineer] to make one, Frank

I'm afraid Frank is right and these cleaning rods are not available anymore. You either have to find a used spare or if someone can produce a new one then there would be a queue for them.

I think I have located one and it’s made by Kitelamp from Taiwan, they made a lot of parts for custom lanterns and spare parts too. Thanks for the advice

If you are able to get the exact dimensions or drawings, perhaps they can be made...from any metals of choice.
The rack-gear teeth section would be a little troublesome to reproduce but not impossible, provided, if you could find someone in local machine shop / gear fabricator to assist on that.
They can also be hand-made with some simpler tools if you are skillful enough but pretty tedious or fiddly, I suppose.

@MYN I’d rather buy one from Taiwan than buying the tools needed to make my own. Thanks for your suggestion

I had forgotten that a lot of parts are being reproduced in Taiwan. It's been a long time since I last looked. I might have to make an order myself. :)

Yep, Pancho. Seems that would certainly be preferable and way easier.
Taiwan has a lot substitute lamp parts. Possibly, South Korea too.
There could be a fair amount of sources catering for certain niche local demands over there.
