I recently picked up a nice Veritas 350 and wondered if you good folks could answer a couple of questions.
Would all models have the date stamped on the frame? - I can’t find a stamp on this one but the frame has been painted at one time so it may be under the paint.
Is the fuel on/off knob original? - I think most if not all pictures I have seen show a black knob.
I think the bail may also be a replacement but it does the job ok.

Hi @stuartc .. that looks to be going well

I have seen threads about the date; I believe the date is stamped on the edge of the plate that the globe rests on ?
I am not sure if all Veritas were stamped .. I seem to remember looking on one I have and thinking the same about paint

@podbros Thanks, it was pulsing a bit but this was a quick light up without having done any servicing.

The paint on the frame looks pretty thick and textured so it could be hiding a date underneath, that said, I've got some without any markings at all. Red control knobs are less common but definitely original.

Looks like it's working well and although the hood has lost some enamel it's as nice find! Enjoy.

BTW, original glass globes are very hard to come by so treat it gently! There are some non Veritas globes that will fit but having an original Davisil marked example is kinda nice.

    Thanks guys.
@ColinG I’ve seen a couple of alternative globes so the original will probably become a show piece
