Hi all. I hope this is the correct place to ask a bowl fire question. Apologies if not. Just wondering if a Tilley grill/guard will fit or be made to fit a bowl fire. I assume they don't as I've not seen anyone mention it yet. Cheers folks.

Ah great. Thanks for the quick reply. Only joined the forum last week so I'm still learning. I've just bought another bowl fire with a missing grill and wondered if the Tilley would fit. Looks good enough to me. Cheers.

    Hi Ian,

aye, I didn’t know they fitted either until last month! They do seem to be missing on a lot of the bowl fires so great that ones can be adapted

It's good to know. There's plenty with missing that's for sure. I bought one a few weeks ago complete that needed a vaporizer. It was a bit tired and a previous owner had sanded off all the chrome on the reflector. About a day later another got listed that looked nearly perfect with plenty of chrome left on grill and a very shiny bowl. I've just bought another today as well that looks to have nice bowl and good badge too but missing the grill. Was cheap enough to think about trying a Tilley grill. I'll see what it's like when it comes. Gonna need a bulk delivery of paraffin the way I'm going

Look for a fuel (heating oil) supplier with fuel pumps near you. For myself, it's worth a 30 mile round trip to fill my jerry cans with kerosene (heating oil) at £1.00/ltr.

Lol. Was only joking about the tanker but Deffo worth trying to find some cheaper. Think I've paid about 2 quid a ltr for mine. Got 20 ltrs. Should last me all summer now. Maybe.
