I got Lucky searching for lamps on the internet and finally found my Wiktorin. Conny made me search for it since I saw his tablelamp on Youtube getting fired up.
I asked for the story of the lamp as usual and seller wrote "I moved in to my house 15 years ago and there was the lamp. It has no interest to me so I didnt touch it, I like nature and hunting".
Now I got the last pieces for this lamp and could clean it up. It is a very very very nice lamp to light, work on and to look at I think.

    Here she is:

The ring on the top of the tank makes it possible to hang the lamp in balance from a hook.

And the belonging glasses/globes and mantle direct from Wiktorin-plant:

    She also comes in White:

    Enjoy

    Greetings Claus
A beautiful lamp. Reference the globe did you purchase them from Wiktorin?
If so I am keen on getting a globe myself.

I am sure that would look far happier down here in Aussie

    Regards

    Thanks Peter.
I guess the good old Heinrich Wiktorin is a goner and unfortunately his plant too.
What I refer to is that the wrapping of the innerglass and the mantle is origin and how it came to the seller from who I bought the lamp.
The Wiktorins comes obviously in different sizes, and the difference can variate double almost.
What lamp do you need glass for? show show =P~
The lamp above can not go to Australia - it only speaks Danish with a slight Austrian accent - sorry

I suspected that was the case but lived in hope of finding a globe.
Nothing as nice as yours and Connys but it is a Wiktorin 8006. The colours are unattractive but that was the residual pigment left so went with it. It fires up okay but not that bright. Am fiddling around to try and rectify the problem.
James stated he has had the same problem. He suspects that the globe and inner glass could have a bearing on the issue.

    regards

It is a very nice lampe you have there Peter. I also need such one.
Globes appears to be hard to find, but I think its possible to have them blown by a glass-blower. The innerglass is diffenrent though while it gets intensive heat and I dont know if a mouthblown glass will do.
Since I saw yours and James's fine lamps, I could see they seems to miss the ceramic stool to attach the mantle to. It looks like this from the tablelamp and I think its the same to your lamp:

It should be possible to form it your self in clay and burn it and the inspiration for this I saw here:

May the light be with you on this.

    Heya Claus,
We are always after that other lamp  It's trying to convince the Minister for Finance in the house that is the problem [-o<
Fortunately I still have that and use the preformed mantles.

What sort of packing do you use in the fuel tube going into the lamp proper?

    If it is the sloping fueltube containing a filter you mean, then I didnt take the filter out. I opend the bottom-screw;

    1408367198-Wiktorin_011_opt.jpg 1408367228-Wiktorin_012_opt.jpg

And found close to completely clogged. Then I gave it the wellknow citric-acid-water-trick and that did it. Out came a total green fluid and I think the filter origin is made of copper that over time did react with the brass-fueltube.
I managed to clean using it like a drinking-straw (I know) just without the drinkingpart, then it came so clean that blowing air through was like blowing air through a syntetic washingsponge as those for cleaning pots and pans you know.
I was not able to take out the filter and as it Worked fine I left it in.

Yes that is the one. In mine it is a very fine mesh which steadies the flow of metho into the heating chamber. I find that by altering that packing (different sorts of mesh)the fuel/air mix changes and the brightness varies. By removing the mesh I have a wonderful flame thrower and packing too tight it doesn't work properly.
The old mesh in the tube needs to be replaced but haven't got around to it yet.
Just one of the number of projects I am playing with at the moment. The wife is happy because she knows I am in the shed

    Hi Peter
I invited my missy to the shed for coffee once. She said shed was Cold, the coffee was not to be served in plasticcups and it was dirty everywhere - but it was cozy she said and later she came uninvited to drink coffee in the shed so one never know O:)
The purpose of the mesh in the tube I believe is 1. preventing backfire and 2. making a counterpressure to prevent the alcohol in steamform to press the liquefied alcohol backwards.
I dont believe the mesh is there to prevent impurities.
Nr. 1 is easy to fullfill and I dont think this will give any problems to you, but nr. 2 I think is a bit more difficult, while stamping the wadding too hard the fuel maybee will have too hard time getting to the vertical tube in the vapourizer and stamping it too light will make a flamethrower as you describe it.
The density of the mesh is also a factor but I think it can be adjusted by the way you stamp it.
I would have liked to see how my mesh looked but I couldnt fish it out of this narrow tube and I didnt understand this metal-stick sitting in the middle of the tube so I was afraid of doing something wrong :?

Has anyone seen anymore of these beauties? Is there anyone that can point me in the direction of one? I am loosing my mind trying to get my hands on one. It would be awesome if you still had this one and wanted to get rid of it.

Hello, I managed to buy a Lamp Wiktorin on ebay. Unfortunately, it is not in complete condition - the burner holder + burner and both glasses were missing. At home, I have many mantles with a type of lamp unknown to me. I made the burner holder out of brass and the burner itself out of steel on a lathe. Any chance it will work?

    I would say:try it out.
I think despite the craftsmanship that the steel and brass is to heavy, to thick and heat transfer may or may not work.
    It is an alcohol/spiritus lamp.
