    Hi all. A friend of mine and i hsve gone camping for the weekend 1950s style. We both driving our 1954 land rovers losded with 50s period kit including 50s canvas tent,2 x246 lanterns ,2x r1 heater,ww2 camp stretchers 1950s flag bunting and tea was cooked on a 55 4m colman double cooker and a prumas no 5 1957 cooker. This is bloody living.

    The reason for the 1950s in particular is the fact that both my friend and i hsve owned mid 1950s Land Rover for the past 28 yrs even though we are ony in our mid 40s so its s nice continuation of them to have 50s kit

    This brings back the memories of my family Christmas holidays in the late fifties and early sixties. Similar big tent, trailer parked inside tent as a double bed. Kids on stretchers and Tilley X246 on attachment pegs to one of the large wooden poles but a Primus two burner gas stove. The other family we went with had a CS56 Tilley stove too.

    Looks like you have great fun; good on you.
