I’ve been fettling and using pressure lamps for a good few years now but just had my first ceramic nozzle disintegrate on my Optimus 930. When searching for a replacement I came across this brass alternative. I had it shipped and fitted it and it seems to work great. It should presumably be far more durable than the ceramic but I wanted to check if anyone has ever had an issue with these long term as it’s obviously not as per factory design?

I will be interested to hear how it goes long term.

My concern would be that there is much more heat transferred to the mixing tube now which could give premature burning in the tube. There must have been a reason for the original design to use ceramic but I don't have any good reason why. A lot of other manufacturers use metal burner heads.

Yes, the heat is my concern too. As you say plenty of other lamps use metal but the 930 already gets very hot overall as standard.
