Coleman 220D (USA 1950 "B")

    This is a Coleman 220D, made in the USA dated "B 50" (1950). The lantern is is good condition.

    This example was not sold retail in Australia: it came to me via an Australian collector, who received it from an American collector.

    There are not that many Coleman 220D lanterns in the Reference Gallery.

    Note that I have used the later clip to hold the pump in place. It should have the two small screws.

    Tony - It's great to seeing it running as designed, Tony.

    It likely has a brass fount under the nickel. B 50 was the last period for those features. They went to green paint on the brass in A 51 which was the last date for the D version. The E version that followed had steel sided founts with green paint.

    The fount is brass (with steel bottom plate).
