Without a lampshade the 1025 is an ugly thing. That's why I'm primarily presenting the lampshade that I had to build. I wanted the 1025/10 version with folded parchment.

I built a 3 mm steel frame according to Bo Ryman's measurements (thanks for that Bo). Upper ring 180 mm, lower ring 330 mm.

For the 1025/10 version with a folded lampshade you definitely need connecting rods from the upper to the lower ring. I made it 200mm long, so I also followed Bo Ryman's measurements and kept the original proportions. The lamp cage was then tin-plated.

I used an old folded lamp parchment for the shade. The only difference from the original: Primus originally had a green one, mine is hand-painted with flowers. There is now a wonderful light. Please enjoy.

I much prefer your version @Assel. If only I was artistic or knew of anyone who is ….. oh, hang on, I do know of someone. I need to offer some of the contents of the pig hoosie.

@Jean J, yes, you're right. The paint job looks a bit like a butcher's work of art. :-k
But it's over 80 years old and still fresh.
Well, as I said, all 1025s are ugly without a shade. I am now the proud owner of a 1025 which is no real beauty even with shade. ;)

Good work with the jig /frame too

yes, the trick is to find the right size/shape of shade with a compatible material that looks good..but you show it can be done ](*,) ;-)

    regards

    Thanks for your reply.
But to be honest, I'm building some shades for this lamp. The task is to create an almost original cage based on the model of the 1025/10, which works differently than the usual one with the free-floating lower ring.
I own some original hand-painted folded NOS parchments from the 1930/40s in the correct size in various designs.
These were made for German petroleum table lamps and, apart from the extra painting, they are almost identical to the light green Primusshade 1025/10. And they are extremely heat-resistant.
I think I'll give some shades to friends, but my lamp will keep the flower shade, just making some enthusiasts nervous.
To protect your eyes a little, here is a different design.

Now then @Jean J .... my wife just happens to be an artist.... just thought I'd throw this into the mix

... and @Assel that parchment shade is a thing of beauty!

Really nice one, I have never seen the folded version in real. Keep on with your craftsmanship. There are many 1025:s out there waiting for a new shade. I was planning to do some pcs myself agin but it seems to be totally impossible to find the parchment material nowadays.

Yes, I have looked in vain for real parchment. All I can find is printer paper that is called parchment but this is not safe obviously! If anyone knows where to find real parchment I'd be very happy!
